India’s Longest Floating Fountain Show Unveiled at Hussain Sagar Lake, Hyderabad
Hyderabad has added a spectacular new feather to its cap with the launch of India’s longest floating fountain show at Hussain Sagar Lake. Inaugurated with much fanfare, this iconic installation stretches an incredible 180 meters, offering a breathtaking display of water choreography, light, and music right on the shimmering waters of the city’s most beloved lake. Overcoming Major Technical Challenges
Executing a project of this scale was no small feat. One of the biggest innovations was running all the lights, valves, and pumps on DC current, which significantly improved the safety and efficiency of the floating systems. However, this posed a unique challenge: with the control room located over 220 meters away from the farthest edge of the fountain, transmitting uninterrupted signals was critical. We had to amplify signals robustly to avoid any drops, ensuring perfect synchronization of all water, light, and sound elements across the massive span.
Adding to the complexity, the water in Hussain Sagar Lake is not regularly cleaned, making underwater work difficult. Traditional installation methods were not feasible. Since there was limited space near the fountain site, installation had to be done on land — far away from the water. We carefully assembled sections of the floating structure onshore and then transported them using three speed boats, pulling each massive segment into place one by one. The coordination between engineering teams, divers, and boat operators was crucial to maintaining the integrity of each float section during transfer.
Completing the Floating Masterpiece in Record Time
Despite these obstacles, the Symphony Fountains team rose to the challenge and completed the entire floating fountain installation — including float construction, underwater IP68 LED light connections, pump installations, and cabling — in just 45 days. A true engineering marvel, the fountain features powerful Center Jets, dynamic Chasing Jets, elegant Inward Fountain Nozzles, and sophisticated Moving Jets. The stunning choreography of water jets, combined with synchronized music and lights, delivers an unforgettable sensory experience for audiences.
